We surfed with our little green turtle at Bumboras on saturday - he didn't seem very well at all wobbly and staying high up on the surface, getting whitewashed with all of the waves.
We came back on sunday to look for him , to see if there was anything we could do to help , but we found mertle washed up on the rocks.

Mertle was about 15 years old, had only 3 and a little stub of a fin for the fourth fin. The marine studies teacher thinks it looked like a tiger shark had biten it off a few years ago and healed over.
On national park inspection - the thyroid looked enlarged, lots of scratches and gouges in its shell. They will look at it again in 1 year to see if there is a plastic bag inside. Very sad.
Apart from that , we had two fantastic days of surfing at Bumboras - both 3 hour sessions and out twice today.
